Meeting Edvard Munch to unlock “the secret” of death
Christiaan A. Rhodius and Gustav Jørgen Pedersen (MUNCH) invite us to take an existential look at Edvard Munch’s work. Medical students were the first to participate in a seminar at the Munch Museum in Oslo, called ‘Explore Life and Death with Munch’. Munch’s work has many references to life and death. Both are present, intertwined. Engaging with his work can make us aware of our own way of dealing with mortality. On Xistens.no, you will find examples of personal encounters with Edvard Munch.
Would you like to send in your own? The following questions can guide you: What do you see – on a factual level? What do you feel when you engage with the picture? What does it tell you about life – and death? Leave a comment below, with your text and the title of Munch’s work you are referring to.
